Rebound Headaches… What Are They and Why Are They Such a Pain?

Ibuprofen addict? If so, be wary. Rebound headaches occur when there is too much reliance on headache pain relievers. They happen when pain medication or analgesics are taken more than two to three times a week and tend to affect both sides of the head. They may be accompanied by nausea and even vomiting along with depression.

Self-medication or OTC [over-the-counter] meds taken in regular intervals contribute to these annoying headaches sometimes called withdrawal headaches. In essence, that is what happens…withdrawal. Your body is craves what it isn’t getting even though it isn’t good for you because it is used to it. When your body becomes used to the high-level doses of medication, it leads to more frequent use. Then you’ve got addiction. End result, your body is hooked on drugs and it takes more and more to dull the pain.

Then one day you don’t take the same amount. You think you should stop. Your head starts to scream at you…and this time it hurts worse than it ever did before. You are caught in a vicious cycle of relief, drugs, reduction of drugs, more headache, more drugs, an increase of drugs, reduction in drugs, greater pain and so on and so on and so on. A spiral with no apparent end in sight.

Ultimately, the only way to completely stop your rebound headaches is to quit taking the pain reliever and suffer the consequences. But it doesn’t have to be all bad. You can facilitate the cleaning out process.

The brain is 90% water. It attracts all fluids that enter the body and it makes it easy for pain relievers to accumulate in the brain. It’s like a sponge. It’s also why an organ that is primarily water, reliant on water—especially nutritious clean water—performs better when hydrated. Hydration facilitates the movement out of the brain of those toxins that accumulate and contribute to the headache. The highest level of hydration is achieved when micro clustered water is introduced to the biological terrain. Alkaline micro clustered water is the very best element to feed the brain; to clean out toxins and to break the drug cycle that causes the menacing rebound headache. It’s time. Get serious. Investigate the many benefits of alkalized water?
