The Future of Obesity…The Downside and Upside

obesity 150x150 The Future of Obesity…The Downside and UpsideRecently one of my favorite magazines, The Week, reported on how a twenty year old is affected by obesity. I’m sure most of you are thinking something like, “Well, in every way obesity just isn’t a good thing!” As long as your mind is running something like mine, you won’t be surprised at what was reported in www.LiveScience.com by medical researcher Esther Zimmermann.

Did you know that men who are obese at age 20 have already taken eight years off their life? Tragic, isn’t it?

In Sweden, researchers followed the military records of 5,000 men between the ages of 20 and 80. They found that the majority of men obese at 20 were destined to be plagued by excess weight for decades. But that’s not all. They had twice the chance of dying than that of those without a weight issue. The sad fact was that few of the obese at 20 were still alive at 80.

Why is this statistic important? It gives us concrete information to address obesity early on. The good news is this. If obesity has not occurred in men by the age of 20, it is unlikely that it will develop later.

But did you know that weight is put on to protect ones organs? And what do vital organs need to be protected from? Acid! Sugar equals acid; animal protein equals acid; and carbs equal sugar that equals acid–a vicious circle. Now there’s a way to keep that acid under control. The first is obvious. Eliminate sugar…all kinds of sugar…or, realistically, limit it gradually. Then cut way down or stop eating animal protein–even milk and dairy. And for sure drink better water, preferably microclustered water that is capable of flushing the acid out of your system.  You simply cannot get enough of super-efficient alkaline, antioxidant rich, microclustered water. Not only does it help flush toxins out of your system, you gain a better feeling of wellbeing that leads to more energy and stamina.
