You CAN Have Health Insurance And STILL Go Bankrupt

“As people become millionaires or just increase their wealth on the way to becoming one, the most important thing they desire with their newly found wealth is wellness,” says Paul Zane Pilzer in his book, The Wellness Revolution. But did you know that even those who carry health insurance are still going bankrupt if they get sick?¹

In the June edition of Health Affairs Journal they tell us that 25 million people ages 19 to 64 were under insured in 2007 and nearly 50 million additional people weren’t insured at all. Between these two statistics, 75 million adults were either under insured or uninsured at the same time throughout the year. To top it off, 53% of the under insured went without needed care as did 68% of the uninsured. All of these people had trouble paying their medical bills and the result was that, yes, it’s possible to go bankrupt while struggling to stay well.¹ These distressing statistics drive home the need, actually the requirement, to remain healthy. And the question is, “How does a family do that?”

A strong immune system is the only real possibility of avoiding the consequences of either being under insured or uninsured. The immediate and proactive response to maintaining wellness can be a simple one in order to reap the benefits of keeping the body’s internal terrain free of the pollution that invades it and the illnesses that can come from it. The answer to today’s healthcare crisis is coming in the form of a wave…a movement…that is just beginning to swell and its about keeping the body in a more alkaline state. The very best foundational way of accomplishing body balance is the drinking of alkalized water in place of or in addition to traditional liquids consumed throughout the day. ¹”Not Quite Covered,” Los Angeles Times, June 16, 2008, p.
